Montessori learning

Programs

Our Programs

Ages 2.5–12

At Lions Gate Montessori, we provide an uninterrupted learning continuum for families who wish to maintain an authentic Montessori approach to education. Each program is carefully designed to meet the developmental needs of the child at their stage of growth.

Our primary (preschool) programs, including Kindergarten, operate year-round. All campuses offer Spring Camp and Summer Camp, featuring outdoor excursions, movement development, and team-building activities that take full advantage of the season.

Children's House

Ages 2.5–6

Children's House

The Children's House is the foundation of our Three Year Primary Programme — a carefully sequenced Montessori cycle designed for children aged 2.5 to 6. Within this mixed-age environment, children develop executive function, language precision, mathematical foundations, and social responsibility through the uninterrupted three-hour work cycle. During the first and second years, children build concentration, coordination, and independence through Practical Life and Sensorial work, progressing naturally into reading, writing, and the decimal system. Morning and afternoon sessions are available, with optional French or Mandarin enrichment.

Our children's house provides a carefully prepared environment where children develop at their own pace, guided by trained Montessori educators who observe and support each child's unique journey. The multi-age classroom fosters natural mentorship and a strong sense of community.

Third Year (Kindergarten)

Ages 5–6

Third Year (Kindergarten)

The Third Year — commonly referred to as the Kindergarten Year in conventional schools and Ministry of Education and Child Care terminology — is the culmination of the Three Year Primary Programme. Children who have built their foundations in the Children's House now assume leadership within the mixed-age community, consolidate literacy and numeracy, and experience the deep satisfaction of mastery. As the eldest members of the classroom, they mentor younger peers — reinforcing their own learning while developing confidence and social responsibility. This year is most meaningful when it follows two full years of preparation in the Montessori environment. Students refine independent work habits and academic readiness in preparation for Lower Elementary.
