Our first Parent Conference Day of the school year is on Friday, November 22. Please sign up and reserve your individual time to meet with your child’s teacher. If you are unable to attend, please do not hesitate to contact us to reschedule. There is NO SCHOOL for students that day

Our students have already started their preparation for this year’s Winter Performance Party and Craft Market! Kindly reserve your tickets for this event on our MunchaLunch site under the “Fundraising” tab by Thursday, December 12. The cost is $2 per seat per adult (no charge for students). As seats are limited, please refrain from holding more than 3 tickets per family. If you have trouble purchasing tickets on the site or would like extra seats, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to place your request on our waiting list. Extra seats will be allocated on Friday, December 13 should they become available. Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards our Students Enrichment and California Experience Trip funds. Nov 25 – 29 | Parent Observation Week | Please sign up at the door for a 20-minute observation time to view your child at work in the classroom. On the day of your observation, please wait at the door. One of our teachers will escort you in upon your arrival. There will be a “Handout Pocket” to guide you while you are in the classroom and for making notes. Parents are welcome to email the school if you have any questions after the observation. We look forward to seeing you in our classroom!

Thursday, Dec 12 | Mixed Nuts @ Vancouver Playhouse | Extended-Day / Kindergarten | Please see attached information and return the completed permission to school as early as possible.

SENSITIVITY ALERT! We have been notified that some children in our Casa community have a sensitivity reaction. The triggers are tomatoes, eggs, certain kinds of fruits, and lactose intolerance. Some children have a gluten and dairy-free diet. The school is aware of each child’s needs. We are following the VCH guidelines. All AM and PM Preschool and Extended Day are learning about it. North Creek is a nut-free environment. Teachers and students will be asked to wash their hands vigilantly and regularly, both at North Creek and in the Extended Day classroom at Anchor Point. Please take this opportunity to introduce your child to anaphylaxis awareness. Kindly inform the teachers of particular items or needs at the door. ANCHOR POINT COMMUNITY (GRADE 1 & UP)

Tardiness impacts your child’s progress at school. If students arrive at school after 9 am they are missing precious instructional time and risk falling behind. Please make sure your child attends school on time at 9 am.

Tuesday, Nov 19 | UE field trip to WeDay | Kindly drop off your child at the Rogers Arena, Gate 7 (located just up the stairs from Pacific Blvd by the Team Store) by 8:30 am SHARP. Ms. Ashley will be there waiting to receive the students. The program is scheduled to end at 1:45, so the students will return back to school for your pick up at their regular dismissal time. Please ensure you send your child dressed for the weather since the event is busy, it is unlikely we could get a bus, therefore the children will walk back to school. Wednesday, Nov 27- 28 | Parents’ Workshop: Come and let your child show you how we learn at Lions Gate Montessori! Students will decide on a specific work they want to present and you can just sit down and let your child be your teacher for a little while!  Sign up sheets have been posted at the door, so you can register for a time slot that fits conveniently in your schedule. The workshop session will last 15 minutes and you will have sessions available from 9 am to 11.30 am on both mornings.

Dance Lessons: Students have participated in their first dance lessons already. These are mandatory Physical Education lessons that all students are expected to participate in. Students who do not participate must submit an excuse note from a parent/guardian. Upcoming lessons are on: November 29th, December 6th, and December 13th.

ANAPHYLAXIS ALERT! We have been notified that a child in our elementary community has life-threatening allergy (anaphylaxis) reactions. The triggers are walnuts and pecans. The school is following the VCH guidelines, the families are working with the school, and all Extended Day and Elementary students are learning about it. Teachers and students will be asked to wash their hands vigilantly and regularly at Anchor Point. Please refrain from sending these foods to school. Instead, this is an opportunity to introduce other foods for snacks and lunches to the school environment as you introduce your child to anaphylaxis awareness.
