Our Philosophy
We believe that all children deserve the opportunity to thrive in a supportive environment that allows them to reach their fullest potential with confidence and joy. Responding to each child's innate desire for learning, Montessori education at our school embraces self-discovery by providing an environment that celebrates curiosity, wonder and exploration.

Beyond the Classroom
Lions Gate Montessori offers a limited selection of structured enrichment programmes that complement — but do not replace — the integrity of the Montessori curriculum. These partnerships are selected for instructional quality and developmental alignment.
Professional golf instruction introduces students to discipline, etiquette, and focused repetition in a structured outdoor setting.
Equestrian sessions emphasise responsibility, balance, and composure while fostering respect for animals and environment.
Fencing instruction develops strategic thinking, controlled movement, and disciplined response within a highly structured format.
Professional tennis coaching supports coordination, endurance, and sportsmanship through progressive skill development.
Indoor climbing sessions cultivate problem-solving, resilience, and physical strength within a supervised environment.
In collaboration with UBC-affiliated athletes, students develop athletic fundamentals through structured training.
Our accelerated mathematics programme extends beyond the standard Montessori sequence to cultivate advanced mathematical reasoning. Students participate in weekly workshops led by published mathematics educator Hossein Mousavi, focusing on conceptual understanding and problem-solving depth. Enrichment sessions through the UBC Math Circle further extend mathematical inquiry beyond the classroom. This programme is designed for students demonstrating readiness for accelerated abstract reasoning.
Led by AMI Montessori Sports certified coaches, our soccer programme integrates movement education with developmental awareness. External partnerships provide advanced technical coaching while maintaining alignment with Montessori principles of individual pacing and respect.
Elementary students engage in structured field studies to museums, cultural institutions, and local organisations. These experiences form an integral component of Montessori “Going Out,” fostering independence, civic awareness, and real-world application of classroom study.

“The child is both a hope and a promise for mankind.”

Going Out Program
Lions Gate Montessori is proud to have participated in the Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN) — a prestigious international program that brings Montessori students together to engage in diplomacy, global citizenship, and collaborative problem-solving. Not all schools have the opportunity to participate in MMUN, and our involvement reflects the depth of our elementary program and our commitment to nurturing globally minded young people.
Through MMUN, our students research real-world issues, represent countries at simulated United Nations sessions, draft resolutions, and practice public speaking and negotiation — skills that embody the Montessori vision of education for peace. This experience is a cornerstone of our "Going Out" program, where elementary students venture beyond the classroom to engage meaningfully with the wider world.

Non-Profit School
Lions Gate Montessori operates as a non-profit organization, which means every dollar goes directly toward enriching the learning environment, supporting our educators, and ensuring that authentic Montessori education remains accessible to families in our community.
We offer scholarships and financial aid to students with diverse needs, as well as merit-based scholarships that recognize exceptional talent, curiosity, and dedication. These awards are designed to ensure that a child's potential — not their family's financial circumstances — determines their access to the Montessori experience.
We rely on the generosity of our community — parents, alumni, and supporters — to continue serving families who might not otherwise have access to this calibre of education. Your contribution, in any amount, directly supports a child's journey of discovery.
Merit Scholarships
Recognizing exceptional talent, curiosity, and dedication in young learners who demonstrate outstanding potential.
Financial Aid
Need-based support for families, ensuring every child can access authentic Montessori education regardless of financial circumstances.
Diverse Needs Support
Dedicated funding for students with diverse learning needs, supporting individualized accommodations and specialist collaboration.
Our active Parent Support Group connects families, organizes community events, and strengthens the bond between home and school. All Lions Gate families are welcome to participate.
